Waikato Food Inc are on a mission to put our region on the foodie map! We’re inviting anyone and everyone involved in our regional development to come along to the upcoming Waikato Food Forum and hear more about ‘The Waikato Food Story’ that we are co-creating.
The Waikato region is rich with a food culture worth talking about and celebrating. We believe now is the time to start galvanising this culture and local food ‘story’ by inviting key stakeholders as well as those in the industry along to turn the tide and begin a strategic conversation around working together.
Held at the beautiful Zealong Tea Estate, the day will be facilitated by Angela Clifford, CEO of ‘Eat New Zealand’. A movement initiated by chefs and people in the business of food with the aim of highlighting the quality and vast array of edible resources available in New Zealand. We’ll also have guest speakers Sarah Meikle, CEO of Visa Wellington on a plate and Wendy Voegelin, Growth Programme Specialist of Auckland Tourism Events & Economic Development. They will be offering insight into the successes of their regional food stories and events.
We’re enlisting the help of everyone dedicated to seeing our region thrive and who want to know more about what we at Waikato Food Inc all about and how you or your organisation could partner with us.
We are also welcoming existing industry members of Waikato Food Inc and those who are interested in joining but want to know more. This will be an afternoon of getting our best movers and shakers in one room alongside our food and hospitality industry members.
We will host a panel discussion and hear from those involved in the economic, social and cultural development of our region as well as other activities. We’ll also be holding our AGM at 5.30pm, voting on new board members and electing a new chairperson.
Afternoon tea, drinks and evening canapés will be provided. This event is open to all those in the Waikato Food and Hospitality industry and key stakeholders in the economic, social and cultural development of our region.
